DixonPinto

Hi my name is Dixon Pinto (he/him) and I am a second year medical student at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry (Western University). I live, study, and work on Treaty 6 on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron peoples. Prior to medical school, I completed my Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) at McMaster University. I completed my undergraduate thesis investigating the disparities in alcohol use and heavy episodic drinking among bisexual people under the supervision of Dr. Lori Ross at the Re:Searching for LGBTQ+ Health lab (University of Toronto). I joined the Options Lab in May 2022 and investigated the feasibility of MPX Clinical Trials for Vaccine and Therapeutic Interventions among sexual minority men in Toronto, ON. I am passionate about 2STLGBQIA+ health and it’s intersections with the field of infectious diseases. In my work I continue to strive to push the status quo with respect to the delivery of equitable healthcare and health policies. Outside of the lab you will find me exploring new cafes, local theatre, and spending time with my two nephews.
