Sheliza Halani
Hi everyone! I am currently a CTN Postdoctoral Fellow and recently completed Adult Infectious Diseases residency at the University of Toronto. I completed Internal Medicine training and medical school at the University of Toronto. I am currently pursuing a Master's of Medical Education part-time through the University of Dundee with a thesis focus on education for providers on biomedical HIV prevention for women. My interests are in intersection of addictions, mental health, and the social determinants of health with infectious diseases, providing interdisciplinary care for patients, incorporating health prevention strategies in care, and understanding and addressing gender-specific gaps in care. My projects with the lab include: synthesizing an international case series of myocarditis and pericarditis associated with mpox, updating a book chapter on women's health and herpes simplex infections, and this year I plan to develop an educational module related to HIV PrEP.
