Nikhil Patil

Nikhil possesses over 5.5 years of clinical research experience and is equipped with an MD degree and a post-graduate diploma in clinical research. Nikhil’s role as a Clinical Research Coordinator and Project Manager with the Options Lab is focused on the CORIPREV, SOLAR, CANCOV and DaDHS trials. The CORIPREV trial is a randomized controlled trial evaluating the use of lopinavir/ritonavir as COVID-19 post-exposure prophylaxis. The SOLAR trial is evaluating the role of injectable cabotegravir/rilpivirine for HIV treatment. The CANCOV study is an observational cohort study of individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. The DaDHS study is a randomized controlled trial of doxycycline as pre-exposure prophylaxis against syphilis.  Outside of work, Nikhil enjoy playing a wide array of sports including basketball, badminton, and cricket.

Nikhil has a passion to improve patient outcomes and is excited at the opportunity to work on clinical trials that are having a paradigm shift in the way HIV/AIDS is being treated.  He is also passionate about the ongoing novel COVID-19 research to help contain the spread of the deadly virus. Nikhil enjoys working at the Options Lab as it is a conducive environment for learning while providing the infrastructure to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
