I’m Angelo Sotto, a graduate student at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto. Here at the Options Lab, my thesis work involves determining the prevalence and correlates of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection among gay and bisexual men in Toronto and Montréal. This project hopes to support the development of emerging HSV prevention tools, like HSV PrEP/PEP and HSV vaccines, while exploring ways to ensure these options are accessible to the populations that need them most. I am grateful for the chance to work with these communities for a safer, more equitable, and more informed future.

More broadly, I'm interested in understanding infectious diseases and their impact on the world through an interdisciplinary lens. I'm also passionate about education and when I’m more experienced, would love to be involved in teaching other academics, trainees, and the lay public. Beyond this, I enjoy bartending, basking in greenery, and discovering new R&B music.
