Piragas Puveendran
Research Coordinator
Piragas is a driven healthcare professional with over 4 years of experience in HIV prevention research. He joined the research team in November 2019 and divides his time between St. Michael’s Hospital, the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) and community partners according to the needs of our ON-PrEP Cohort study. He is responsible for project management over the course of the study and provides logistical support to academic and community-based research sites as they enroll study participants across Ontario. Outside of work, Piragas enjoys playing basketball, travelling, and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking and canoeing.
What he likes most about the lab is being able to advocate and support research for best practices in HIV prevention to at-risk populations and clinical service providers. He also enjoys the aspect of working remotely when needed to accommodate a better work-life balance.
